After hearing months of difficulties of Apple batteries I decided to check to see if I was crammed with the rest of the victims. Unfortunately, the answer was 'yes'.
Powerbook's are now on the endangered list. In particular, my G4-12, and I'm not that concerned 'cause the battery has always been hot since the day I carried it home. I installed iStat to monitor the heat last spring and made a little shelf on my extra long window-sill to keep cool air flowing while blocking sun rays with special blinds and curtains.
Well Mr. DHL has arrived six weeks after placing my request with Apple. He wished to wait for me, but I advised him of the reason he was delivering my battery. So he kindly passed, which was great because my battery was fully charged.
So the new battery came partially charged and I completed its first cycle then used it to drain. Wow!! A substantial difference in temperature while using this battery. Even during the charging process the original would get hot.
I'm so happy that the replacement is now tempered and won't blow off the handle. Now if they can do something about the hard drives.....

Drag & Drop your iTunes downloads
Have you recently had one of those mornings when you've gotten out of bed 15 minutes late to barely take a shower let alone eat, but knowing it's going to be a long day you need your ipod?
On the way to running out of the bathroom to the kitchen you check your bag and then look up to find itunes long slow list of progress. You look a bit closer in Downloads to find your favorite podcast episodes are waiting for some other unimportant larger files at top to finish? Well wait and worry no more. Grab your breakfast and mouse and rearrange, pause or stop the downloads of your choice.
Itunes 7 allows you to drag and drop the episodes in the order which you want them to finish first. Allowing you to sync your most important audio and videos and leaving the rest to finish and sync at a later time.
So as I sit here at the end of the day, itunes is automatically updating the episodes that were left behind from the morning rush.
Now I'm totally in control.
