Get Ready California

For those of us suffering from not either living in the 'warm zone' states are so ready to shed our wool coats, scarves, earmuffs, gloves, boots, shovels and the infamous winter studded-tires.

Here near the great lakes area the weather has been fluctuating in a manner in which some of us are not accustomed. We've had high-50 to low-20 degree weather and inconsistent flurries, snow and ice. After updating iTunes with Bikescape and the Fredcast podcast I've come to find that professional cycling teams have been riding up and down California warming up after returning from their domestic or international abodes to check their standing for the upcoming summer riding season. Well I intentionally missed out on even updating some great ride commentary and jumped on my trainer just to find I'm unable to stay in the saddle for more than two minutes.

However, this does not mean that I'm not in shape and ready for the cycling season. I've walked off 40 pounds this fall/winter, and the triple daily shoveling four-days straight has given me the BEST cut thighs I could have ever desired. The great question is will they get me over the steep hills on my 8-10 mile ride.

Denying myself of riding outside has only increased my longing to wash, lube and pamper felty for a spin.

So thank you Jon Winston of Bikescape and Fredcast podcasters for feeding us non-winter riders with warm hemisphere news.
