Burn Daddy, burn....

I would like to wish all the dads, soon-to-be-dads, and the 'just found out you hit the jackpot' future dads.

Making a committment to share the rest of your life with someone, and have children is a path of great honor not many men have decided to walk down.

I wouldn't be sitting here posting in my blog it wasn't for my parents.   I think about my dad a few times a week. My thoughts running through my childhood of the special events in my life.  Such as the day he showed up at my job because he needed a ride for eye surgery.  I was a little over 17 and he made me prove to him that I could really drive. So he stuck me behind his Dodge Ram, which did not have power steering, and made me drive all the way through New Jersey to Pennsylvania. That was a four hour drive one-way, but he taught me to love driving highways just as much as he did.  I have physical memory scars of camping, and boating in Florida. I never figured how I end up sitting on my Mickey Mouse ears.

A final thought that runs through my head is my dad asking me when am I getting married and having children.  He never knew my life decision was to never partake of this institution in which he belonged.

Now as he sleeps until Christ's return I realize he was right.  It's a hard argument when you try to go toe-to-toe with a World War Veteran.  No is not an option.

Happy Father's Day to my brothers, brother-in-laws, cousins, uncles, church dads and family!

God Bless You All and Keep You!
