Busy reading...trying to GTD

One of the few reasons why I have not been riding is due to a couple of my favorite podcasts and websites related to Mr. Allen's GTD. If you've been living under a rock even comedians have added GTD into their skits. Well honestly, it's no laughing matter when you receive atleast over 100, or even 300+ internal emails that require an action. Just get yourself up and come visit.

I've soaked up the first couple chapters, but now that last hundred pages are actual action steps. Things you need to do to start Getting Things Done! I've been a user of The Franklin Institute system, which is now Franklin Covey and some things have changed. Probably for the better, but why must I carry around my planner just in case? Do you know how many times I've left it on top of a car and drove off to hear it thump the rear window. No fun.

Merlin Mann of 43folders.com, I love you mann! I've put myself in the position of being a metro-technical for the time being, just to see what application will fit my character. Low-fi may be better than hi-fi for me, yet I think Apple should create a pda-ipod so that you not only can sync but insert data on the go. If I were to add my pics to flickr's whatsinyour/mybag you would find that I'm just another person who needs psychiatrist on all the gadgetry I carry. Six days a week I schlep this stuff around, but as I prepare for Sabbath just my wallet, glasses and pen holder will transfer.

Why on earth do we carry around all this junk, which sends us to the chiropractor or worse to surgery. We need to get things done so that we can lose ourselves of the attachments of this world.

Technology is why we're unable to get things done. Well, that's one of the reasons. Yet will I give up my ipod, laptop, pda, iGo cords, cds and optical mouse. Now my latest necessity to the bunch a wifi antenna to receive better wifi. All to save trees for the sake of printing on paper, yet the electricity needed to bank power for these devices when will it ever end? Sooner than you think.

No offense, but thank God I'm not a gamer because I would definitely need a Timbuk2 or Crumpler bag.

Have a safe and wonderful Sabbath, and for the rest of you have a safe weekend.
